The Lake Martin area is known for being a very special place during the Christmas season. We like to celebrate everything around here, and this happens to be one of our favorite times of the year. The cute little towns on the Hallmark movies have nothing on us, and we invite you to come and check out some of our favorite Christmas things to do this December around Lake Martin! Parades, parties, plays, Christmas lights, visits with Santa, Christmas music, and more! We have it all here! And another awesome thing to note-most of these are FREE!

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

This is a children’s play that goes from disastrous to the perfect display of what Christmas is all about. It is heartwarming, funny, and surely a special treat.

Santa at the Square
December 4
Share your Christmas list and have a photo taken with Santa! Have breakfast at Alana’s Place, shop The Square, and get pictures with Santa! No photographer will be on site. Share your list with Santa and snap a pic! HOHOHO!!!

Spirit of a Hometown Christmas Parade
December 4
This year’s parade route starts and ends at the schools in Dadeville It will go from South Street to Spring Street, then will take a right on W. Lafayette Street, and a right on Legion. The judges will be at the Dadeville Chamber of Commerce office. There will be food and arts/crafts vendors will be in the Dadeville High School parking lot from 12p-5p with the parade starting at 2:30p.

Alexander City Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade
December 5
Join us as we light up the night, when Alexander City Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade winds its way through the streets of Downtown Alexander City the first Monday of each December. Spectators are invited to line the parade route to watch bands and dancers perform, see the festively decorated floats, and wait for the much anticipated arrival of Jolly Old St. Nick himself.

Christmas Music in the Zazu’s Verandah Listening Room

One night only…hear jazz great David Jones Live performing Christmas music along with some of his personal favorites. David loves our sweet little town. The Dadeville Square will also be decoratred for Christmas!

Christmas at the Creek
December 9-10
Check out two days of fun for campers at Wind Creek State Park! Enjoy a North Pole Social with hot cocoa and s’mores by the bonfire, ornament making, gingerbread decorating, photos with Santa, a Jingle Bell Hayride, PJ Parade, and Campsite Decorating Contest.

Alex City’s 4th Annual Downtown Christmas

Lake Martin Mini Mall Annual Christmas Party

Food, fun, and live music by Zyde Funk! Lake Martin Mini Mall also has some great items featured on the 2022 Lake Martin Christmas Gift Guide that you will be able to check out in person during the party.

Adults Only Ugly Sweater Christmas Party
December 17
This one is just for the adults! There will be a cash prize for the ugliest sweater, and there will also be a Dirty Santa gift exchange for those that wish to participate. Egg nog and treats will also be provided.

Christmas in Pennington Park
Now-January 6, 2023
The Park displays will be lit from approximately 5pm-10pm nightly and will have a full-sized Santa sleigh with periodic visits from Santa himself. Additionally, a North Pole mailbox will be in the Park which will allow children and adults alike to write Santa a letter. Each letter will receive a personalized response from Santa complete with Rudolph’s own “hoof-mark” of approval. You will also be able to check out a variety of Christmas displays set up by families, businesses, churches, and other groups in the area.
