Alexander City Arts presents War Bonds: The Songs and Letters of World War II on Sunday, November 9, 2:00 PM at the Betty Carol Graham Technology Center at Central Alabama Community College. Admission is free, and all are invited to this moving musical tribute to “The Greatest Generation.” Through heartfelt letters and timeless songs, War Bonds brings to life the everyday experiences of Americans during World War II. It’s a nostalgic and emotional journey that blends live music, personal stories, and archival imagery to celebrate resilience, love, and sacrifice. This special performance will honor local veterans, including a 99-year-old World War II veteran from our community. Residents of the local VA home will be in attendance, and veterans and their families are encouraged to come as honored guests.
“This isn’t just a show,” said Henry Foy of Alexander City Arts. “It’s a way for us to remember, honor, and share the stories that shaped our country. We hope families of all ages will join us to celebrate and reflect together.”
The performance is part of Alexander City Arts’ 2025–2026 season and is made possible through a grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts, Community support, and partnerships with Central Alabama Community College, local veteran organizations, and generous sponsors.
