Horseshoe Bend is excited to once again offer a chance to view the Alabama night sky. Come visit the park this Saturday, February 28th for a chance to hear Ranger Garrison talk about the stars and legends and stories that surround them. Afterwards, you will get a chance to look at the night sky yourself through a park provided telescope. Park gates open at 6:30pm and the event starts at 7:00pm.
What’s in store:
• Gaze at sparkling stars and legendary constellations
• Spot distant planets and our magnificent moon
• Use our provided telescope (bring binoculars for solo stargazing—telescope time may be limited)
What to bring:
• Warm clothes (it gets chilly!)
• A flashlight with red cellophane for optimal night viewing
• Your sense of wonder
