Russell Lands on Lake Martin

Wilson Road Trailhead

Our craving for the creepy continues in Russell Forest. We will take a walk to discover and examine the decomposers that work to transform dead matter into usable nutrients. From centipedes to fungal spores, many agents help break down wood. We will flip logs and shuffle leaves looking for proof of forest recycling and the living agents who break down everything from logs to animal droppings and flesh. Along the way, we will discuss the native plant and animal species we see. This experience is appropriate for ages 5+. Insect repellent will be provided.

Advance registration required!
