Whether you love fall festivals, guided hikes and outdoor activities, or just getting into the Halloween spirit, everyone can find something to enjoy. Downtown Alexander City Fall Festival
Enjoy the Downtown Alexander City Fall Festival hosted by Main Street on October 24 from 10 AM to 1 PM! Bring the kids for Trick-or-Treating starting at 11 AM. Enjoy vendors, food, games, and community fun for all ages. For more information, contact Michelle at Main Street or visit their website.
Dadeville Fall Festival
The Dadeville Fall Festival, happening on October 3, is a cherished annual tradition that brings the community together each October in downtown Dadeville. With local vendors, live music, arts and crafts, and family-friendly activities, the festival celebrates the Lake Martin area’s charm and creativity. Visitors can enjoy delicious food, shop handmade goods, and soak in the festive atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, the Dadeville Fall Festival offers a perfect way to experience small-town hospitality and seasonal fun.
Dadeville Historic Cemetery Heritage Walk
Step back in time at the Dadeville Historic Cemetery Tour, where local history comes to life through the stories of some of Dadeville’s most notable citizens on October 10. Beginning promptly at 5 p.m., the tour will feature 10 costumed docents portraying residents from the 1800s and early 1900s, sharing their stories as guests stroll through the historic cemetery. Tickets are $10 per person and may be purchased through Eventbrite, at Tallapoosa Nutrition with cash or check, or on-site the day of the event from 4:30–4:50 p.m. at the American Legion Post, located at 512 E. Columbus Street in Dadeville. Because the terrain is uneven, the tour may be difficult for guests with disabilities, so we recommend comfortable shoes. The rain date is Sunday, October 11.
Fall Family Festival
Celebrate the season at the annual Fall Family Festival at Russell Crossroads, where fall brings a day of fun for the whole family on October 31. Kids can pick out the perfect pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch, visit the petting zoo, take a horseback ride, and explore the working grist mill and Blacksmith Shop. The Naturalist Cabin is also a favorite stop, where guests can meet Naturalist Marianne and her collection of critters. The festival will also feature the Blue Ribbon Baking and Canning Contest, a kids’ costume contest, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the sights and sounds of fall at Russell Crossroads. Families can join for $25 (based on a family of four), while individual admission is $10, and additional pumpkins are $5 each.
Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival
Celebrate the season at the first-ever Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch at Kylee Cooper Farms on October 17! Bring the family out for a fun-filled fall day on the farm, complete with pumpkins, seasonal activities, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the sights and sounds of autumn. Whether you’re looking for the perfect pumpkin or simply want to spend a fall day together, this new community event is a great way to experience the season on Lake Martin.
Turpentine Tales
Come join all the ‘animals’ in the Russell Forest on Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, from 6-7:30 pm for Turpentine Tales. Turpentine Tales, held in the ruins of the old Dixie Industrial Company’s Turpentine Distillery, features some awesome children actors depicting animals. These animals, from meek to domineering, will describe, in detail, their role in the forest. You may find a herd of deer, a bald eagle, and maybe even a possum or two. Meet your friends at Russell Crossroads near the Town Green stage, where trail guides will share a bit of history before you wander into the forest! As the walk on the Turpentine Trail comes to an end, make sure to find the campfire and S’mores – a delicious sweet treat at the end of your walk.
46th Annual Oktoberfest
Join Alexander City Parks & Rec for the 46th Annual Oktoberfest & Custom Car Show on October 10. Enjoy a multitude of vendors, food, entertainment, and tons of fun activities for your children, including a petting zoo, inflatables, and arts & crafts!
