D.A.R.E. Power Park
This park is a 30-acre lakeside recreation area located six miles west of Dadeville on Young’s Ferry Road. Nestled along a quiet, wooded cove on Lake Martin, the park offers a sandy swimming beach, shaded pavilions, picnic tables, open grills, and plenty of space for families to relax by the water.
Developed in 1997 in partnership with the local community, the park was named through a student contest held by the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) programs at Tallapoosa County schools. Today, it remains one of Alabama Power’s largest managed parks.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of amenities, including a boat launch, public restrooms, an amphitheater, multiple picnic areas, shoreline access, and docks. With its natural setting and convenient facilities, D.A.R.E. Power Park is a popular destination for swimming, picnicking, and spending time on Lake Martin.
