Cherokee Ridge Alpine Trail Association- CRATA

The mission of the Cherokee Ridge Alpine Trail Association, Inc., (CRATA) is to promote and preserve nature and nature education in the greater Tallapoosa River Valley through access to footpath only trails. Smith Mountain Fire Tower, Cherokee Ridge Alpine Trail at Overlook Park, The James M. Scott Deadening Alpine Trail, John B. Scott Forever Wild & Cherokee Bluffs Dam Railroad Trails at Yates Lake.

CRATA boasts over 26 miles of well maintained and expertly marked hiking trails located around Lake Martin in Tallapoosa county and on the Tallapoosa river in Elmore county.
