Duane Parker performing live at Zazu’s Verandah on Thursday, May 4th at 6:30 pm

Duane Parker grew up in the mountains in Virginia. Needless to say that explains the Appalachia in his style. He first sang at the age of five at the Burton fair with his father. He sang Kowliga and everybody went wild and he knew right then that’s what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. He learned to play guitar at the age of 7 and by 13 he was writing songs of his own.
He’s opened for Lone Wolf, Marshall Tucker B and David Allan Coe, Gene Watson and T Graham Brown. He’s sung with Randy Travis’s band, Connie Smith’s band and the Buddy Rose house band of Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge in Nashville.
Ambassador Charlie Ray presented Duane with a platinum songwriting award in May of 2003 in Nashville Tennessee at Smiley Hollow Airplay International and the King Eagle Awards Foundation nominated him for male vocalist artistic trailblazer and the Golden Pen Awards. He was also a guest of George McCain and John Conlee at the Grand Ole Opry the night his father died.
He has labeled himself as Outlaw Country because he sticks to his roots.
Duane released his Bottle of Survival CD in November 2022… you can find it anywhere we have streaming media. He is currently working on a new acoustic album.
