DESCRIPTION:The Lake Martin 50/50 returns to Russell Lands in Alexander City on April 4\, 2026\, offering a scenic and supportive endurance race experience along the shores of Lake Martin. Designed as an ideal “first ultra\,” this event welcomes runners stepping up to a 50K or 50-mile distance with a runnable\, non-technical trail course through the private Russell Forest Trail System. The 50-mile race starts at 6:30 AM and the 50K follows at 6:35 AM\, just minutes before sunrise at 6:39 AM\, with a brief race meeting for all distances at 6:20 AM at the start/finish area (17 Russell Farms Road\, Alexander City). Runners will navigate rolling hills\, constant elevation changes\, and beautiful lake views\, including the signature climb up Heaven Hill\, while enjoying frequent\, well-stocked aid stations and on-course medical support. Registration closes March 31 at 11:59 PM\, with race shirts guaranteed only for those registered by March 14\, so early sign-up is encouraged for this rewarding and well-loved Lake Martin trail race.
