First Day Hike

Bring in the New Year with the Wind Creek State Park naturalist on a First Day Hike around Speckled Snake Trail! First Day Hikes are staff-led hikes, held annually on New Year’s Day throughout the Country, and are designed to encourage visitors to enjoy parks year-round and to promote good health and exercise by working off those calories gained during the holidays. Start the New Year off right and take a hike at Wind Creek State Park!
Meeting Location – Marina Parking Lot
Step-off time – 10:00 am
Distance – Approximately 3.5 miles
Terrain – Densely wooded with several hills. Great views of the water from some parts!
Things to Bring – Plenty of water and/or sports drink, snacks/lunch, hiking poles/staff (optional), sturdy shoes (open toe shoes are not recommended) Trail may be wet. Please be sure to dress appropriately according to seasonal temperatures/weather. No age restrictions on this hike and well-behaved dogs are allowed if on a leash at all times!
