SUMMARY:Dixie Sailing Club Annual Introduction to Sailing
DESCRIPTION: This is a Dixie Sailing Club annual event designed to open our facilities to the public at no charge to experience one of the many great resources available on Lake Martin.  \nWe are a private sailing club promoting all aspects of sailing. The club was established in 1960 and has been active since that time. The “Introduction to Sailing” will be held on Saturday\, June 6th 2026\, from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Scheduled activities include:  \n\nA short course on the basics of sailing. \nBasic introduction to the parts of a sailboat. \nCapsizing and recovery demonstration. \n\nGuests will have an opportunity to skipper a small sailboat (if they so desire) and go sailing on larger boats with club members. Private tours will be given in and around the new club property. Lunch and refreshments will be served.  \nThe Dixie Sailing Club was re-located in 2012 to the 767 New Hope Church Road\, Alexander City\, Alabama 35010\, which is off Wicker Point Road.
