Commemoration of the 210th Anniversary of the Battle of Horseshoe Bend

Horseshoe Bend National Military Park will host a two-day commemoration of the 210th Anniversary of the Battle of Horseshoe Bend with a free events that recreate traditional Muscogee Creek life and frontier life in the year 1814, while emphasizing the importance of the battle in US history through a variety of special demonstrations and interpretive programs.

Friday evening will focus on the Muscogee Creek experience during the battle and its aftermath. Luminaries will light the battlefield in honor of over 800 fallen Redstick warriors, in addition to speakers from the Muscogee Nation.

On Saturday, there will also be speakers, a ceremonial wreath laying, living history camps, musket firings, and a variety of children’s educational activities.
