Anglers commonly target species like largemouth bass, spotted bass, striped bass, crappie, catfish, and bluegill. Popular bass lures at Lake Martin include 4-inch finesse worms, jigs, spinnerbaits, and floating trick worms, with smaller lures often being more effective in clear water. Alabama bass tend to inhabit deep structures like rocky points and ledges, while largemouth bass stay shallower, favoring cover like vegetation and brush piles. Notably, Alabama bass exhibit schooling behavior, especially in colder months.
